We’re thrilled to announce our Spring Quarter Creative Connect, with Baobab Studios Co-Founder + CEO and MSLCE Industry Advisory Board member, Maureen Fan! Maureen will be joining us at 12:30pm on Wednesday, April 15, at our home base at the Frances Searle building on Northwestern’s Evanston campus. This event is free and open to the public; lunch will be provided for all attendees.Maureen Fan is the CEO, Co-Founder of Baobab Studios, the ten-time Emmy Award winning animation company that blends storytelling with cutting edge tech (mixed reality, metaverse, AI) to build franchisable family IP and interactive worlds. Named Fast Company’s 2018 Most Innovative Company, Baobab’s universes are being turned into films (Disney), series on premium streamers (e.g, Disney+, HBO Max), books (Penguin Random House, MacMillan) and games (Roblox, web3, Oculus).
Fan has over 2 decades of creating, launching, and scaling mass market global digital products in e-commerce, gaming, social network and media industries in the US and internationally at startups and Fortune 500 companies. A product and strategy leader, she helped to birth the social casual games revolution as Zynga’s VP of Games, reporting directly to the CEO and overseeing 6 studios including the original FARMVILLE franchise. Her products have earned her recognition as one of ‘The Most Creative People of the Year’ by Ad Age and Top 100 Influential Asian by A100.
