What are 1-2 of your most significant academic, extracurricular, and/or work experiences? My proudest achievement is being part of East Coast Orphans, a group of filmmakers that has spent 15 years making movies together. We started with short films, and are now making award-winning indie features.
What is your ideal job/role in about 10 years? Artistic Director of a theater or cultural space
What led you to enroll in the MSLCE program at Northwestern University? I’m passionate about fostering creative spaces and creative placemaking more broadly. MSLCE will help me find my style and voice as a leader and develop hands-on skills to handle the business of cultural spaces. I’m also excited about the entrepreneurial opportunities at Northwestern.
Favorite… Movie: Everybody Wants Some (Richard Linklater) / Photographers: William Eggleston and Todd Hido
What aspect of the MSLCE program are you most excited to experience? (i.e. specific class, site visit, IDEA fund, internship, etc.) I look forward to the classroom discussions and learning about my classmates’ various backgrounds and interests. I think these discussions will help me improve decision making/problem solving, expand my mind, and envision new possibilities in the arts.
If you could have lunch with one person living or dead, who would it be and why? David Foster Wallace. Wallace always gave eye-opening observations on what it meant to be American, to give yourself up to a pursuit, to live in a commercial world, etc. I want to see present day America through his eyes.
What would would you most like to win? The Formula 1 World Drivers Championship
