What led you to enroll in the MSLCE program at Northwestern? Career reset!
Favorite (song/movie/show/festival/exhibition … )? Favorite Song: “Acknowledgement” by John Coltrane; Movie: Julie Dash’s “Daughters of the Dust”; and Festival/Con: Blerd City Con in NYC (I’m a producing partner). Malcolm Gladwell’s “Revisionist History” podcast can’t be beat.
What are you most looking forwards to about the MSLCE program? All of it sounds wonderful but, currently, the classes are rocking my world.
What is your favorite Chicago landmark/attraction, or what are you most excited to visit? Driving or being driven on Lake Shore Drive is definitely one of my favorite activities, anytime!
If you could have lunch with one person, who would it be? I would love to have lunch with my late maternal grandmother to receive more of her incredible wisdom and guidance.
If you had to describe yourself in three words they would be … Optimistic, Determined, and Generous
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be? New Orleans
What thought or message would you put in a fortune cookie? Closed mouths don’t get fed.
Which leader or influential figure inspires you the most and why? Paul Robeson: He was an internationally renowned artist, activist, intellectual (lawyer and scholar-post law school), and athlete.
