What are 1-2 of your most significant academic/extracurricular/work experiences? 5 years in film distribution, 3 years as production assistant, representation activist
What is your ideal job/role in about 10 years? President or SVP at a studio/production company
What led you to enroll in the MSLCE program at Northwestern? After following my love of creative work, I want to further my career by shifting towards a more business and strategy-centric path.
What aspect of the MSLCE program are you most excited to experience? (i.e. specific class, site visit, IDEA fund, internship, etc.) I’m most excited for the interdisciplinary look at business strategies, Organizational Processes is exciting, but I’m also looking forward to Culture and Arts Analytics and Business Models as my electives
If you could have lunch with one person (living or dead), who would it be? And why? My Grandma Jenny. She is one of the biggest inspirations I’ve ever known. She embodied living with love. I would love to be able to sit down with her and talk about some of the things I wasn’t brave enough to broach with her when she was alive.
What award would you most like to win? Does EGOT count as an award? I’d like to win an Emmy, however awards in creative fields can be highly political. I’m more interested in my work having a positive impact on fans. I’m in television because of how it changed my life. I’d love to be able to pay that forward.
Which leader or influential figure inspires you the most and why? Trevor Noah’s emphasis on nuance, compassion, and understanding inspires me to keep working to amplify unrepresented voices and to fight for the changes I wish to see in the television world.
