What are 1-2 of your most significant academic/extracurricular/work experiences? One of my most significant academic experiences was leading a research project on gender equity in the media industry, where I conducted a comparative analysis between China and the U.S. This helped me develop strong analytical skills and a deeper understanding of global media dynamics. Outside of class, I interned at NetEase Cloud Music, where I helped organize a large-scale music festival, coordinating between artists, partners, and media outlets. This hands-on work experience sharpened my communication and project management abilities.
What is your ideal job in 10 years? In about 10 years, my ideal role would be a strategic communications leader in the entertainment or tech industry—such as a Head of Global Communications or a Brand Strategy Director—where I can help shape cross-cultural brand narratives and lead teams managing global media campaigns. I hope to integrate my background in public relations, economics, and my passion for entertainment to build brands that resonate with international audiences, especially bridging markets like the U.S., China, and South Korea.
What led you to enroll in the MSLCE program? I enrolled in the MSLCE program at Northwestern because it perfectly aligns with my career goal of working at the intersection of media, entertainment, and business. My background in public relations and economics, along with hands-on experiences in music festival planning and risk management, made me realize that I want to take on a leadership role in the creative industries. The MSLCE program’s unique blend of leadership training, industry connections, and experiential learning opportunities will help me strengthen my strategic thinking and expand my network in the entertainment field, particularly as I aim to work on global brand strategies that cross cultural and geographic boundaries.
What aspects of the MSLCE program are you most excited for? I’m most excited about the internship. I believe hands-on learning is the best way to understand the fast-evolving entertainment industry, and I hope to gain exposure to global companies that shape media and pop culture
