BFA in Drama, New York University

Area(s) of Interest: Music, TV/film, Performing arts, Theatre, Dance, Arts/music festivals, Nonprofit work, PR/Marketing

Experience: The Summer before my Senior year of undergrad a friend of mine asked me to apply as a co-producer for our Student-led Community theatre company for the following season. This role allowed to me realize that while I am meant to work in the arts there are so many ways to do so without needing to perform.

Ideal Job in 10 Years: Artistic Director for a prominent regional theatre, theatrical Producer,  managing live theatrical events, or some sort of entertainment management role with the Walt Disney Company

What led you to enroll in the MSLCE program at Northwestern? I had a strong interest in becoming a Producer/Artistic Director and found that a majority of the skills keeping me from excelling in that field were the practical business skills. I have spent a majority of my life being the one performing and wanted a program that not only taught me applicable skills but also provided an incredible opportunity to network and get my foot into the door for that industry.

What are you most looking forward to about the MSLCE program? The Culture and Globalization class has me in AWE. It seems so incredible to be able to apply a creative input on so many industries. I am also most excited to network with my fellow students and other professionals.

If you could have lunch with one person (living or dead), who would it be? Ruth Bader Ginsburg. She is the greatest role model I can think of. While I would love to ask her a million questions, I also just want to thank her.

Which leader or influential figure inspires you the most and why? Emma Watson. I have been a fan of hers since I was very little and I feel so proud of her transition into public services. She is a role model to all who look up to her. She struggled with her fame as well and still managed to turn that unwanted childhood fame into a platform she uses for issues she is passionate about.

Where are you from? Potomac, MD
