Katie Hytros

Katie Hytros is an Adjunct Instructor for both the Master of Science in Leadership for Creative Enterprises program at Northwestern University’s School of Communications and the Harvey Kapnick Center for Business Institutions at Northwestern’s Weinberg College of Arts & Sciences. Katie has extensive experience working in the private, nonprofit, and public sectors. As the President of Bright Maple Advisors, she has served as a coach and consultant to a wide range of organizations and executives, with a focus on leadership and strategic planning. Katie was the founding Executive Director at Future Leaders of Chicago, a startup nonprofit organization whose mission is to purposefully build community across high school students from different racial, class, gender identity, and socio-economic backgrounds, engaging them as citizens and developing them as leaders. In addition, Katie served as the Deputy to the Chief Education Officer in Chicago Public Schools, the Deputy Director of New Leaders Chicago and was a member of the founding team at The Bridgespan Group. In the private sector, Katie spent several years as a strategy consultant at Bain & Company where she had the opportunity to work with clients ranging from international Fortune 500 companies to local cultural institutions. Katie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Michigan, an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and is a graduate of The Broad Residency in Urban Education, now the Fellowship for Public Education Leadership at the Yale School of Management.
