Experience: My most significant work experience is my previous entrepreneurship experience of funding the art gallery. In 2019, I founded a commercial art gallery in the biggest design center in my hometown Xi’an and led several successful projects. Developing the gallery from the scratch to the first exhibition, I took the lead in almost every single step. Through this experience, I gained insight into the art market and organizations, and confirmed my interest in the creative industry. Unfortunately, the gallery has to be closed due to the epidemic. But I wish it could be my long-term and sustainable business in the future.

Ideal Job in 10 Years: After gaining years of work experiences and accumulating industry insights, I plan to keep driving my own start-up project and develop an integrated platform to help and promote creative artists to make profit and value for their intellectual properties.

What led you to enroll in the MSLCE program at Northwestern? I aspire to get more comprehensively trained in strategic skills and entrepreneurship and accumulate more real-world business problem solving experiences through studying at MSLCE program.

What are you most looking forward to about the MSLCE program? I am deeply attracted to the class “Economics in Creative Enterprises.” I watched the description of this course on the official website, and I totally agree with Mr. Sandrock that “Art is business, business is art.” Through my experience, I led the project and integrated resources from the start, so I understand how important the capital is for a project. I want to learn how to use the language of business to findseek funding and target the potential investor.
