What led you to enroll in the MSLCE program at Northwestern? My passion to pursue higher education along with my dedication to utilize every resource our city has to offer.
Favorite (song/movie/show/festival/exhibition … )? Music: Kanye West, Chance the Rapper, Vic Mensa, Sir Michael Rocks. Festival: The Taste of Chicago!
What are you most looking forwards to about the MSLCE program? Connecting and engaging with faculty and my peers excites me the most.
What is your favorite Chicago landmark/attraction, or what are you most excited to visit? Chicago Cultural Center
If you could have lunch with one person, who would it be? Jean-Michel Basquiat. I’d enjoy chatting with such an accomplished, creative mind.
If you had to describe yourself in three words they would be … Encouraged. Active. Humble.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be? Some place in the Panama, the country where my mother and family is from.
If someone made a movie about your life, what would it be called and who would play you? “MEADE: chapter 1” Played by Jeremy Renner.
What thought or message would you put in a fortune cookie? Love everyone always. The thought is often overlooked.
If you could donate one million dollars, which cause/organization would you choose to support? I would disperse the money to three organizations: Collaborative Learning and Neighborhood Action, Chicago Diabetes Project, and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
Which leader or influential figure inspires you the most and why? My biggest inspiration this year is fashion designer Virgil Abloh. Coming from Rockford, IL, he seemed destined to stardom, but only he had the dedication and poise to make it happen. He, along with Kanye West, embody our hardworking city so well, and the places we will go astounds me. Nothing is earned!
