BS in Biochemistry, UCLA

Experience: I would say that my most significant experience was performing in Samahang Pilipino Cultural Night (SPCN) at UCLA for four years and being part of SPCN committee for two years before becoming the SPCN Coordinator/Executive Producer in my fourth year.

Areas of Interest: Music, TV/film, Visual arts, Fine arts, Performing arts, Theatre, Dance, Photography, Video/digital media, Arts/music festivals, Nonprofit work, Entrepreneurship, PR/Marketing

Ideal Job in 10 Years: I would love to work as a television or film producer. I would like to develop content that reflects the diversity of America and give Asian-Americans and other minorities a chance to share their stories within the arts.

What led you to enroll in the MSLCE program at Northwestern? After graduating from UCLA with a degree in Biochemistry, I realized that my passion was in storytelling, creative development, and management. However, I knew I still had a lot to learn about the industry, and I believe that the MSLCE program will provide me with the tools I need to be successful in this field.

Favorite (song/movie/show/festival/exhibition … )? Song: “Beyond the Sea” by Bobby Darin

Movie: The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King

TV show: How I Met Your Mother

What is your favorite Chicago landmark/attraction, or what are you most excited to visit? Anywhere by the lakefront; I love being near a body of water. (I think it’s the California girl in me). Not to mention, the view of the city skyline is perfect!

If you could have lunch with one person (living or dead), who would it be? It would definitely be with Lin-Manuel Miranda. Not only is he a phenomenal artist, but he is also an incredible advocate for diversity in the arts. I aspire to follow in his example to help bring diversity not just to the stage, but to television and film as well. Truthfully, it would incredible to have the opportunity to have lunch with him simply because he is an all-around talented individual.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be? I love learning about other Asian cultures, so probably South Korea or Japan, mostly because both are so rich in history and tradition.

What award would you most like to win? The Academy Award for Best Picture. Hopefully one day!

Where are you from? Los Angeles, CA
