What led you to enroll in the MSLCE program at Northwestern? I was looking for a leadership studies program that offered a performing arts focus but wasn’t exactly in the market for a degree in arts management. When I discovered MSLCE,  I was immediately attracted to the program’s interdisciplinary approach and the wide ranging networking opportunities it offers. Then when I discovered it was also possible to complete the program in one year, I knew it was the one for me.

Favorite (song/movie/show/festival/exhibition … )? My favorite play is A Street Car Named Desire by Tennessee Williams. King Lear is high on my list of favorites too.

What are you most looking forwards to about the MSLCE program? I’m looking forward to all of the networking opportunities the program has to offer. Particularly the site visits and internship experience.

What is your favorite Chicago landmark/attraction, or what are you most excited to visit? The Art Institute of Chicago

If you could have lunch with one person, who would it be? Bertolt Brecht so I could hear what he has to say about the current state of our political affairs. And since he’d already be back from the dead, maybe I could get him to write a play about it.

If you had to describe yourself in three words they would be … Conceptual, motivated, collaborative

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be? New York for a while. And then perhaps somewhere in London.

If someone made a movie about your life, what would it be called and who would play you? Rarely Pure and Never Simple with Jack Black playing me.

What thought or message would you put in a fortune cookie? Always be your own best advocate.

If you could donate one million dollars, which cause/organization would you choose to support?
The Actors’ Fund

What award would you most like to win? Returning Champion on Jeopardy

What knowledge or skills are you hoping to gain from the program?  I would like to leave the program with the skills, knowledge, and network to produce creative entertainment projects across multiple lines business.

Which leader or influential figure inspires you the most and why? Anna Davere Smith has always been a huge inspiration because of her innovation in the art Verbatim Theatre and for her leadership in working to define what the theatre means and does in the 21st century.

Where are you from? Chicago, IL
