Ideal Job in 10 Years: In 10 years, I hope to be planning programming relating to indie music, stop-motion animation, or vintage gaming (video, board, or tabletop role-playing). I could see myself pursuing these interests either at a museum such as Seattle’s MoPOP or as a private endeavor of my own.

What led you to enroll in the MSLCE program at Northwestern? I had been looking for an ideal arts management program when I came across the MSLCE program. It was by far the most progressive and versatile degree program I found that would serve a career in either the non-profit or for-profit sectors with an attentiveness to modern trends. I have a wide array of interests within arts and media, and I felt this program was the best way to hone those interests into a career.

Favorite (song/movie/show/festival/exhibition … )? One of the most inspiring pieces I have ever seen was the live performance of Kid Koala’s Nufonia Must Fall. Miniature puppets were used to bring the graphic novel of the same name to life, with projections of the tiny sets shown on a movie screen in a theater. As a huge fan of stop motion animation, I found the puppetry breathtaking.

What is your favorite Chicago landmark/attraction, or what are you most excited to visit? Chicago has some spectacular music stores. Chicago Music Exchange and Rock N Roll Vintage have the most exquisite collections of guitars and amplifiers from the past and present.

If you could have lunch with one person (living or dead), who would it be?If you had to describe yourself in three words, they would be… I would have lunch with Ray Harryhausen, my favorite animator.

How do you plan on spending/did you spend your summer before starting MSLCE? Before starting MSLCE, I worked at EarthQuaker Devices, one of the top manufacturers of boutique special effects pedals for guitar.

Where is your dream internship for next summer? My dream internship would be at LAIKA, one of the premier stop motion animation studios in the country.

Where are you from? Cleveland, Ohio
